12:49 Kozulin's lawyer dismissed from bar association
The Minsk Regional Bar Association on April 18 approved the application by Alexander Kozulin's lawyer Igar Rynkevich, seeking voluntary resignation from the bar. According to Mr. Rynkevich, the bar association's board on Wednesday evening "gathered an urgent meeting, which approved this decision". The lawyer himself was present at the association on that day, yet the decision was taken in absentia.
Mr. Rynkevich noted that it was not hard to invite him to attend the board's meeting. The lawyer was prepared to recall his resignation application, because he filed a complaint against a disciplinary punishment imposed on him on April 15.
According to Mr. Rynkevich, the bar's board was very well aware of this fact. He said he filed a resignation application, because his fellow lawyers were under pressure because of his professional actiovities associated with the defense of Alexander Kozulin, the high-profile political prisoner.
