Action of solidarity with political prisoners to take place in Stockholm
The action will be organized in one of the Swedish capital’s central squares - Norrmalmstorg - at 4.30 p.m. (local time), informs Radio Liberty. Minister for European Union Affairs Birgitta Ohlsson and deputy chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Swedish Parliament, social-democrat Urban Ahlin are among its participants.
Birgitta Ohlsson claimed earlier that “the way the last European dictatorship held an election a month ago when hundreds of people including presidential candidates were injured and detained was absolutely unacceptable”.
Alyaksandr Kazulin, presidential candidate of the election held in 2006 and former political prisoner, will represent Belarus in the action.
