Alyaksandr Mіlіnkevіch conducts three meetings with inhabitants of Homel
The Belarusian opposition leader, the Sakharov prize-winner Alyaksandr Milinkevich conducted three meetings with people in Homel.
Meetings were organized in different districts of the city. Pensioners, students, representatives of the ideology department and opposition activists came to talk to the famous politician. Homel dwellers asked questions about benefits cancellation, rising prices, low wages and medical service.
Alyaksandr Mіlіnkevіch told ERB about the results of the meeting.
“Those were quite interesting meetings. Conducting them is very important. People want to talk but the authorities have become isolated. But people have a lot of problems and their number is growing. That is why such visits to the regions are very important to help feel the atmosphere in the society and simply to organize discussions with people”.
Let us remind you that representatives of the opposition asked for permission to rent the assembly hall of the Palace of Culture “Festyvalny” before the arrival of the politician but got a refusal.
Uladzimir Shumilin and Ales Lyashkevich were fined for more than a million roubles each for distribution of leaflets inviting people to come to the meeting with Milinkevich. Uladzimir Katsora was sentenced to 7 days of administrative detention and Pyotr Kuznyatsou was imprisoned for 5 days.
