Authorities in Rechytsa to build ice arena in place of Afghanistan memorial

The authorities in the town of Rechytsa, Homel region have approved a plan to shift a memorial to the Soviet soldiers perished during the war in Afghanistan.
An ice arena will be built on the site of the memorial located near the town center.

The town hall said the memorial would be relocated to the Victory Park, thus making it a memorial of all the wars during the Soviet period. However, residents are surprised, because there are several hectars of the idle land lying nearby, reports AFN
