Belarusian businessman detained in Moscow after 8 years in hiding
A former deputy of the head of a Belarusian agroindustrial association “Rassvet” Mikalai Hetsman has been detained in Moscow. The Belarusian police were looking for him since 1999. Hetsman is accused of having organized a number of grand larcenies of budget money in the period between 1993 and 1997.
Mahileu Region Office of Public Prosecutor accuses him of “creating a criminal grouping with the purpose of committing heinous crimes due to malversation”.
The 50-year-old businessman was detained in the Russian capital near the house where he was renting a flat last Friday.
