Belgian looms costing about €4 million launched at Brest plant
Four Belgian looms have been launched at a Brest plant “Brest carpets”. Each of the looms costs 1 million euro. Two of them already work in three shifts. The chief engineer of the enterprise Valery Marchuk has informed ERB about it:
"The looms are produced only in Belgium and in Denmark. We organized a tender and the Belgian offer was 200 thousand euro cheaper”.
The modernization costs 50 billion rubles allocated after a special presidential order in the summer of 2008 after the plant had found itself in a terrible state. The problem was caused by the competition with Vitsebsk carpet plant that had taken over over Russian markets.
The production of expensive elite carpets will also be resumed. This tender has been won by Germans, says Valery Marchuk.
