Believers ask Filaret to take care of Square participants
The newspaper "Church Word" has published an article composed of the readers' letters, which concern the events at the Independence Square in Minsk on December 19. The authors of the letters express their worries with regard to the prisoners' destiny, their physical and moral health, and ask Methropolitan Filaret to conduct a peace-making action which would unite the Belarusian society. It is significant that Methropolitan Filaret has not greeted Aliaksandr Lukashenka on re-election for the fourth term yet, and Lukashenka, in his turn, has in fact ignored the liturgy in the Minsk Holy Spirit Cathedral for the first time fir many years, states Radio Liberty.
