Bilateral commission on ethnic Poles in Belarus to gather once again in April

The Belarusian-Polish intergovernmental commission has continued a dialogue over the Union of Poles in Belarus, Polish embassy in Minsk's press secretary Pavel Marchuk told the European Radio for Belarus. The commission is expected to gather for a new session soon. Pavel Marchuk: "Conversations are under way all the time. The most important thing is that the dialogue had continued, that the commission will gather for the next meeting. It is likely that the next meeting will take place in Minsk or Warsaw by the end of this month".

The first session of the Belarusian-Polish commission on the Union of Poles in Belarus took place on March 19 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation is led by Leanid Hulyaka, the special representatives for religious and ethnic matters. The Polish side is led by Andrzej Kramer, Poland's first deputy foreign minister. The commission met behind the closed doors without reports and represenatatives of the civil society.
