Customs officer conducts illegal customs clearance of nearly 500 cars for 32 dollars per car

Minsk regional public prosecution presented a new accusation to the Chief Inspector of Maladzechna customs clearance point of Minsk Regional Customs, informs "Ejednevnik". According to the public prosecution's information, the 43-year-old inspector guaranteed safe and quick process of customs clearance of approximately 230 vehicles of the Private Unitary Enterprise "Automentor", only for the year 2007. The customs officer received more than 7 000 dollars for that. The customs clearance of each car costed only 32 dollars.

In 2008 the Chief Inspector increased prices for his services to 40 dollars per car. He admitted nearly 250 cars and earned about 10 000 dollars for the six months of the year 2008.

Basing on the above facts, the public prosecution initiated a criminal case in the framework of which they presented an accusation of repeated bribe taking.
