Declarant of European Match Yauhen Afnahel arrested for 10 days
Yauhen Afnahel, one of the declarants of the European March, has been arrested for 10 days, reports Charter-97. The decision was taken by the Central District Court of Minsk.
The opposition member was detained yesterday evening two hours after he had left the building of Minsk City Executive Committee where he had discussed the European Match of October 14 with the city authorities.
Afnahel stood a private trial for hooliganism. Thus the authorities continue arresting the meeting’s organizers despite of the appeals of the EU authorities to stop repressions and let Belarusians organize the March peacefully.
A member of the organization committee of the European March Zmitser Barodka, an activist Leanid Navitski, a human rights defender Svyatlana Harahavik and activists of the civil campaign “For Freedom” Ihar Balykin and Ihar Tsishko are in the confinement cell in Akrestsina Street too.
