Football: BATE striker Bliznyuk signed by German second league's worst club
Genadz Bliznyuk is following his teammate BATE striker Vital Rodionov to Germany. Bliznyuk, 28 has signed a six-month contract with German side Frankfurt, reports the Belapan news agency. Frankfurt is currently at the top of the table in the second league. According to team's web site, the contract may be extended for two more years. Frankfurt expressed interest in the player back in summer, but the transfer amount was not accepted by the German side.
Frankfurt coach Tomas Oral said he was pleased to sign the Belarus international.
Last season in Belarus, Bliznyuk together with Rodionov was the best scorer with 16 goals. Rodionov has been signed by Freiburg which is at the third position in Germany's second league.
