Hockey: Belarus champions to play in qualifiers for Champions' League

The Belarusian ice hockey club will take part in the qualification round of the second Champions' League, Rene Fazel, the president of the International Ice Hockey Federation said on March 5 in Minsk.
He said the Champions' League would be gradually expanded. The champions of Denmark, Latvia and Belarus will be allowed to take part in the qualification. The first Champions' League tournament will begin in the 2008/09 season.

12 squads from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switserland will take part. In the next season, 30 clubs from 24 countries are expected to participate, reports Belapan.
