KGB arrests senior investigator of General office of Public Prosecutor Svyatlana Baikova
The Belarusian KGB has arrested the senior investigator of important cases of the General Office of the Public Prosecutor, order-bearer Svyatlana Baikova. According to “Daily”, the arrest is connected with the last case investigated by Svyatlana Baikova. The accused were the former director general of the Department for Financial Investigation Anatol Hramovich, retired KGB MG Anatol Zaretski, other officials of high rank and a few dozen customs officials.
Actions of all members of the investigative group headed by Svyatlana Baikova are being studied now. About a dozen employees of the Office of the Public Prosecutor who specialized in investigation of serious infringements connected with corruption and organized crime in state institutions are involved in it.
According to “Daily”, colleagues describe Baikova as a person who treats corrupt people in a very strict way.
