Last respects for Aleh Biabenin to take place today
Last respects for the curator of the web-site "Charter'97" Aleh Biabenin will take place today, on September 6, in Minsk.
Civic requiem will take place from 2 p.m. till 3 p.m. in the ritual services hall located at Alsheuski Street, 12. The funeral will take place at Ushodni (Moscow) Cemetery of the capital.
Aleh Biabenin's body was found in his summer house in the village Piarkhurava of Dziarzhynsk district in the evening on September 3.
Medicolegal investigation showed he had died of strangulation. The police announced their preliminary version of his death was suicide.
The leader of the campaign "European Belarus" Andrej Sannikau doubts the suicide version. According to him, Biabenin just returned from Greece where he spent his vacation, he behaved as usual and was full of plans.
