Lithuanian teenager fined by Belarus cour for a false bomb alert

A court in the border town of Astravets fined an underage Lithuanian national for "a deliberate false danger alert".
On April 9, an unidentified man called the Belarusian customs at the Belarus-Lithuania border and said that a duty-free shop had been mined.

The "terrorist" demanded Br1 million otherwise the bomb would be set off. The shop was cordoned off and the staff was evacuated, but field engineers found no explosives in the building.

Three Lithuanian teenagers, who were spending vacations with relatives in Belarus, were detained four hours later as the ones connected to the matter.

They confessed that they made a false bomb alert "just for fun". The amount of the fine the 16-year-old youngster has to pay was not revealed.
