Milk war: Officials in Smolensk search for dairy products from Belarus

Sanitary officials in Smolensk (near the border with Belarus) on June 10 started inspections of local vendors, trying to find milk products from Belarus, reports Smolenskie Novosti web site. Sergei Ragutski, a deputy chairman of the regional sanitary authority, said that entrepreneurs who sell the banned milk products will be forced to remove them from sale and dispose of them as soon as possible. If the banned products remain on sale, vendors will be penalized with fines.
