Nuclear power plant near Poland-Belarus border

The government of Poland plans to build two nuclear power plants in Podliasje and Pomorje. The final decision is yet to be taken, but discussions are already in full swing. Unofficially, the north-eastern part of the Bialystok region is described as a future location of a nuclear power station.

Polish PM Donald Tusk was the first to voice this idea. He stated that in 2020 Poland would have had its nuclear power from two stations: in Pomorje -- the country's poorest region, and in Podliasje.
