Opposition activist in Barysau under pressure from tax inspectors
Siarhei Salash, an activist with the For Freedom movement, has been approached by the local tax-collection authorities who want his to explain his revenues as far back as for 2006. The oppositionist received a phone call from the local revenue office one day after Alexander Lukashenka's state-of-the-nation address at the National Assembly. While at the parliament, the head of the state ordered Zyanon Lomats, the chairman of the State Control Committee, to check what money the opposition was living on.
Salash was asked to give explanation on the phone. However, he was also told that their conversation was being taped. The opposition member said he would answer all the questions in the written form, reports Press Service of Alexander Milinkevich.
