Opposition activists to discuss presidential campaign with lawmakers in Brest

Brest's Maskouski District Administration today will host a meeting between representatives of the pro-democracy opposition and members of the House of Representatives, reports Radio Svaboda. The Brest regional branch of the United Civil Party, Fair World Party and the local organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) proposed to meet with lawmakers in order to discuss the course of the presidential campaign.

The lawmakers initially asked to postpone the meet, with Deputy Hanna Anishchuk having not responded to the proposal at all. This is a violation of the law on requests from members of the public, says Mikalai Koush, chairman of the local branch of United Civil Party.

But, the meeting is to take place anyway.
