Pavel Yakubovich takes to the streets in Israel
Pavel Yakubovich, the editor-in-chief of the presidential newspaper Sovietskaya Belorussia, is taking part in the street actions in Israel. He was dispatched there by Alexander Lukashenka to explain "a positive attitude of the Belarusian president towards the Jewish people", reports Belapan.
Lukashenka's remarks about the city of Babruisk and the Jews when talking to a group of Russian journalists caused tensions between Israel and Belarus.
On October 29, Yakubovich took part in a meeting devoted to the naming of a street in Jerusalem by Masha Bruskina, an anti-Nazi resistance fighter in Minsk during the World War II.
