More than 50 thousand people imprisoned in Belarusian jails and colonies
Total sum for keeping a person in custody in jails and detention centers makes Br 883 thousand per month.
Deputy head of the General public prosecutor's office's department Aleh Starastsin said this in his speech which he held for a group of Minsk doctors, who visited the Valadarski Street detention center with an excursion.
According to Starastsin, about 7 380 citizens are in custody in detention centers and prisons, and about 32 thousand - in correctional colonies, BelaPAN reports.
