72 years ago chief commander of the frontier picket Kamenny Woz Pawel Palczynski took an unequal fight against the attacking Red Army. According to the memories of witnesses of those events, he led the fight alone for more than an hour and destroyed several dozens of Red Army warriors. Local inhabitants secretly buried his body and forgot the place of burying as the time passed.
And now, at last, the remains of the hero were honourably re-buried at Hlybokae cemetery near the Polish soldiers who died during the war in 1920. Military Attache of the Polish Embassy Jan Manczynski, First Secretary of the Polish Consulate Robert Nowakowski, and representative of the local authorities, chief ideologist of Hlybokae district executive committee Mikhail Charapkouski took part in the ceremony.
Before the ceremony, the participants of the event visited the place where the frontier picket, which Pawel Palcynski defended and near which his body remained for 72 years, used to be located. A cross and a memory shield were concecrated at the spot.
