Taxi-drivers operating illegally in Minsk can be deprived of 25 vehicles
25 cars costing 225,5 millon roubles in total can be confiscated from taxi-drivers operating illegally in Minsk. The cars are now at the impound yard and their future is to be defined by the court, informs the newspaper "Republic".
We remind, that the amendments which allow arrest of a vehicle has been included into the Administrative Code this February. An illegal taxi-driver is warned when he is detained for the first time, then he is fined for the sum up to 3 million 500 thousand roubles. 27 administrative charges have been already made this year in the capital, an average fine paid by the drivers was only 100 thousand roubles.
In addition to the above, the Minsk database of illegal taxi-drivers, found back in 1996, now includes approximately 2500 people.
