Vitsebsk City Executive Committee forbids meeting with Alyaksandr Milinkevich

Vitsebsk officials are against the meeting with Alyaksandr Milinkevich planned for February 22. It became clear after the initiators of the meeting received a reply to their appeal to the executive committee. Our reporter Yadviha Stasheuskaya comes up with details:

“The reply is signed by the deputy head of the City Executive Committee Losich. It wasn’t just a refusal – they are forbidding the meeting with the leader of the Movement “For Freedom”. According to one of the organizers of the meeting Hrysafor Zhalyapau, Losich demanded to stop any activities needed for organization of the meeting.

Let us remind you that the initiative group sent an appeal for a meeting with Milinkevich to the City Executive Committee on January 15. More than 500 signatures of citizens were collected in support of the idea of the meeting. However, the City Executive Committee claimed that some of the signatures were fake. Employees of the City Executive Committee forced a number of citizens to withdraw their signatures”.
