Belarus complains to UN Secretary General over US sanctions

The official Minsk has informed UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon that the United States introduced fresh sanctions against Belarus's petrochemical monopoly Belneftekhim. Belarus also warned that its retaliation "would be very of a very harsh nature", reports Belapan.  In the letter to the UN Secretary General, Belarus's Permanent Representative in the UN asked to publicize as an official document of the UN General Assembly the statement of the Belarusian foreign ministry. The statement stressed that the US had ignored the previous agreements with Belarus and violated "the agreed algorithm of actions to normalize relations".
