Belarus is ranked 4th in Europe with regard to quantity of murders among youth
Belarus occupies the 4th place in Europe with regard to quantity of murders among young people, informs TUT.by. The rate of mortality through violence in the age group 10-29 is 6,3 per 100 thousand people. Such numbers have been revealed in the report on prevention of violence and crimes among youth. The document has been prepared by the European regional office of the World Health Organization. The experts analyzed murders which happened in the European region in 2004-2006.
The highest rate of mortality through violence among youth has been recorded in Russia— 15, 85 per 100 thousand people. The lowest rate has been recorded in Germany — 0,47 per 100 thousand people. Armenia and Austria are also in the end of this sad rating. On the whole, the experts collected information about 53 countries in the framework of this research.
The authors of the document consider that murders and violence among youth is the result of low level of life. Such crimes are usually committed by representatives of the poor. Moreover, 4 of 5 victims are men.
