Belarusian Ministry of Justice to liquidate Communist Party
The Belarusian Ministry of Justice is going to send an appeal to the Supreme Court asking to liquidate the Belarusian Communist Party.
The Minister of Justice Victar Halavanau has informed about it. The 6-months term of suspension of the party’s activities ended on January 2. The decision was taken by the Supreme Court on August 2, 2007.
This time the Minister accused the party members of having given interviews to Belarusian and foreign mass media during the six months. According to the Minister, party members are forbidden to conduct any activities except for those connected with correcting law violations and to use their bank accounts but for a few cases during periods of suspension.
Halavanau thinks that the administration of the party has not managed to correct the violations which led to its suspension.
