Milinkevich gets foreign ministry portfolio in alternative government
The sitting of the committee that is organizing the alternative government. The idea of the alternative government was initiated by the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. Some 40 representatives of political parties, civil initiatives as well as experts from various trades attended the event.
The list of VIP guests also included presidential contenders Yaraslau Ramanchuk, Mechyslau Hryb and Vital Rymasheuski. Alexander Kozulin, Alexander Yarashuk, Siarhei Kalyakin, Henadz Hrushavy were also present. The event was also attended by the British ambassadors and diplomats from the Hungarian embassy and the OSCE office in Minsk.
Pavel Sevyarynets said at the meeting that minister portfolios would not be handed out and the government would not be formed today. At the same time, everyone present received a list of names of ministers in the alternative government. The oganizers did not mentioned the names of possible presidents.
The portfolios in the finance ministry are offered to Bahdankevich, Ramanchuk and Chubryk; economy ministry -- Chaly, Zlotnikau, Zaleski and Dzmitruk; foreign ministry -- Milinkevich, Sannikau and Krauchanka; information ministry -- Litvina, Martsau, Dynko, Starykevich and Syaredzich.
Alexander Starykevich asked why his name was proposed for the post of the information minister and said he had no desire to take this post.
At the same time, Aleh Vouchak who was offered the portfolio of the interior minister said that he would become the prosecutor general with pleasure.
