Trial against Bruzgi strikers to be resumed today
The trial was postponed many times.It was supposed to take place back on June 20.
The Lenin district court of Hrodna will consider the claims filed by the police and the Hrodna regional customs against the participants of the strike which took place at a border-crossing point in Bruzgi. Common expenses of the two plaintiffs have been canculated as about 10 million roubles. Police claim to have spent almost 7 million roubles on "dispersal of the spontaneous protsest action of contrabandists on June 12". Let us remind you, riot police specially arrived to the border terminal then.
They are trying to make 36 participants of the picket cover all these expenses, although they were fined previously for participation in a non-sanctioned action and disobedience to the police. It is impossible to get to the trial as the judge has made it a closed one.
