The Russian government today approved a draft legislation "On joining the WHO's framework convention against smoking, reports Ria-Novosti news agency.
The convention envisages a total ban on all the advertisements and the promotion or funding of tobacco products.
A country that joins the WHO convention is expected to implement its provisions within five years since the moment of ratification.
