Rzeczpospolita: 22 opposition members to get seats in Belarus parliament

Brussels gave Minsk the list of 22 opposition members who are expected to get seats in the new parliament, the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita close to the office of the Polish president has learned.  Brussels admits that the results of the election depend on the authorities not the voters. If European monitors decide that the elections were not democratic, the presence of democrats in the House of Representatives could allow EU to lift sanctions against Belarus officials.

The Brussels' list aims to avoid the situation when Lukashenka's regime "will pick the weakest or compromised representatives of the opposition for the parliament". Economist Yaraslau Ramanchuk, a deputy chairman of the United Civic Party who is running in Hrodna, is allegedly named on this 'EU list'.
