Sentence to be pronounced to Ladutska's ex-deputy on February 11

The trial of the ex-deputy head of Minsk City Executive Committee will finish on Monday. The sentence will be pronounced in Minsk Province Court at 4 p.m., BelaPAN reports.

The sentence will be pronounced at an open hearing. However, it is not clear whether the whole sentence or only the final part will be pronounced in public.

The ex-official is accused of major bribery. Vasilyeu is said to have demanded $500 thousand from Czech investors. He was going to help them sign a contract allowing to build a waste recycling plant for it. KGB detained the official when he received the first part of the bribe.

Vasilyeu pleaded not guilty in court. The prosecutor has asked to imprison the official for 15 years and to confiscate his property.
