Yushchenko demands that Russia should resume gas transit to Europe via Ukraine

The Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has demanded that Russia should resume gas supplies to Europe via the territory of his country “without delay”.
France Press informs that the demand is expressed in the letter the Ukrainian President sent to his Russian counterpart Dmitrii Medvedev and the head of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso.

Yushchenko notes that it is necessary to resume the daily gas transit to European states to match the amount shipped in 2008 in order to allow a new agreement between Moscow and Kiev.
