26 people join hunger strike in solidarity with political prisoner Autukhovich
The number of people who went on hunger strike in solidarity with political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich has been on the rise, with 26 people having joined the action so far. On May 8, Ilya Nahorny, an activist from Salihorsk, has joined Malady Front members who are staying in the office of the Belarusian Popular Front without food.
On May 7, Roman Bahdanovich began a hunger strike in Belarus as well as two activists of the Belarusian-European Society. They announced a hunger strike in front of the building of the European Commission in Brussels.
Leanid Skarabahaty, a member of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party, told the press service of Malady Front (Youth Front) that his daughter Emilia went on hunger strike on May 5. Leanid stayed without food as a sign of solidarity on May 5 as well.
Civil activist Ales Hetman also joined the hunger strike on May 6.
