35 Belarusian opposition members received call-up papers in April
35 opposition activists in Minsk and the regions received call-up papers in April. The statistics was presented by an Internet edition "Вulletinonline.org". All of them were warned about criminal responsibility for draft evasion. By the way, “draft evaders” are included in the data base of people forbidden to go abroad now.
The Ministry of Defence does not distribute information about the number of draft-evaders. However, only Maskouski District military registration and enlistment office has sent 60 cases to the Office of Public Prosecutor since the beginning of the year. Criminal cases have been started against 48 people and 24 have already been punished – they were fined or imprisoned for up to 6 months.
