Abkhazia's president confident that Lukashenka will back down

Sergei Bagapsh, president of Georgia's breakaway territory of Abkhazia, told Belaruski Partyzan that Minsk may eventually recognize the province's independence.   "We do not want to put pressure on Belarus to recognize Abkhazia, but the matter will be sorted out sooner or later," he said.

He added that he does no bear grudges against Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka for delaying the consideration of the issue.
