Accident at gas-holder of “Beltransgaz” in Kamaynetsk District
The accident took place at Prybyhskaye storage pond in Kamyanetsk District of Brest Region. The stop valve was damaged during repair works. The water holding the gas in the underground gas-holder escaped from it.
The water was under pressure which resulted in a big fountain on the spot. It took workers from “Beltransgaz” several hours to reach the spot of the accident – they arrived from Rechyntsa (that’s 300 kilometers from Kamyants!).
The consequents of the accident were liquidated on the evening of September 28. Experts are examining the whole gas-holder because even small defects can result in unpredictable consequences.
“Beltransgaz” refuses to comment on the incident.
