The action "Let's restore Kalozha together!" started in Hrodna in the framework of the Days of Historical Heritage, on Friday. The Vice-Mayor Iryna Senchankava gave a festive start to this campaign near the church's walls: "I am asking everyone who is now here, as well as those who are absent. Workers of culture and art, intelligentsia, businessmen, representatives of industrial enterprises and scientific establishments - I am asking you to support this action, to commit this act of goodwill!"
A charity bank account has been opened for collecting money for reconstruction of one of the oldest Belarusian churches, built in the end of the XII century. It's requisites, as well as the project of reconstruction of the church, are published at the web-site of the regional executive committee.
Some historians do not trust the architects' projects and are preparing an alternative discussion about reconstruction of the church. They insist on involvement of foreign specialists. Historian Andrej Vashkevich does not exclude the possibility of addressing to UNESCO.
