Action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners takes place in Moscow
An action of solidarity with victims of political repressions in Belarus is taking place near the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow. It has been organized by the Belarusian community and a Russian movement “Defence”.
That’s what one of the participants Ales Chaichyts said about the goals of the action in an interview with the “Eho Moskvy” radio station:
“We demand that the Belarusian authorities should conduct a full and transparent investigation of the facts of deaths and disappearance of people and stop political repressions against opposition activists and independent journalists.
Conducting the action in Moscow, we urge the Russian Federation’s authorities to join the demands of the international community concerning democracy and human rights in Belarus”.
About 10 people are taking part in the action.
