Activists in paper dresses to come to Lyozna court today
Trial on the case of the editor of “Vitsebsk Courier" newspaper Viktar Ramniou will take place today at Lyozna court (starting at 11.30). Let us remind you, he was detained by the traffic police when he was delivering the print run of the 35th issue of the newspaper from Smolensk printing house.
11 thousand copies of the newspaper were confiscated from Ramniou on the whole. He is accused of illegal dissemination of printed matter.
The activists of the "Our House" campaign are going to make an action near the court building where the trial is to take place. This was informed to the European Radio for Belarus by the campaign's leader Volha Karach.
Karach: “There will be an action of protest there. The famous "Our House" activist Krystsina Shatsikava is preparing the action. Several people are to arrive in paper dresses made of the newspaper "Vitsebsk Courier" to illustrate the absurdity of the newspaper's detention”.
Let us underline that "Vitsebsk Courier" is a newspaper which is registered and printed in Russian Smolensk 11 thousand copies per week.
