Adult Tae Kwon Do world championship is likely to take place in Minsk
The President of the International Tae Kwon Do Federation Professor Chang Ung informed the journalists that he saw no obstacles for conducting the future adult Tae Kwon Do world championship in Minsk. According to him, the preparation work for the 9th youth and 4th veteran championship, which started on August 25, was done at a rather high level, informs BelaPAN.
According to Chang Ung, the main aim of this championship is promoting Tae Kwon Do in the Eastern European countries, with the help of Belarus. The current championship gathered 650 participants from more than 50 countries of the world - this was stated by the executive director of the Belarusian Tae Kwon Do Federation Viachaslau Berzhats.
North Korean sportsmen are considered to be the favourites of this championship, Russia also has a strong team, and the Belarusian tream has shown good results so far. Belarusian fighters have won 1 golden, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals on the first day of the championship, on August 25. Yesterday our national team added one more bronze medal to their collection.
