Almost 100 bus conductors to be fired in Brest
Some of them have disappeared with collected money and the police are looking for them.
Almost 100 bus conductors will be dismissed in Brest. The acting director of the bus terminal Vasil Nautsevish has confirmed the information to ERB:
"Yes, we will fire them. The city demands to organize transportation. We do it. However, fighting unemployment or stowaways is not our goal. Stowaways will always be there. We have to make transportation profitable. Conductors have increased our profit but they have to be paid. And this contingent… Some people fled with money and are being looked for now… As a result, we are at deficit. Our losses in the city total 700 millions in 7 months. We have to save somehow. We will keep those who are of the pre-pension age and they will work only on profitable itineraries”.
According to Nautsevich, conductors have to collect four million rubles a month to keep their job. Let us note that there are 200 conductors in the bus terminal. About 40% of them will be laid off soon, said Vasil Mautsevich.
