Anarchists still in jail
Minsk City Court has decided to leave Mikalai Dzyadok in jail. Let us remind you that the youth activist was detained on September 3. He was suspected of having attacked the Russian Embassy to Minsk. Later Dzyadok was accused of taking part in the protest action against the military maneuvers “West-2009”. Two more activists are still in prison – Alyaksandr Frantskevich and Syarhei Slyusar. Slyusar is in Babruisk. The guy is accused of having attacked the KGB building in Babruisk on the night of September 17. Frantskevich is accused of arson of the police office in Salihorsk and hooliganism. There was no hooliganism in his actions, noted a human rights activist of the “Vyasna” centre Nasta Loika.
Loika: “He admitted that he was making a video. Even if he knew there would be an attacked, he can only be accused of misprision”.
An unregistered human rights centre “Vyasna” and the International Human Rights Federation have made an announced in connection with the detention of the anarchists. The chairperson of “Vyasna” Ales Byalyatski says their cases have political traces.
Byalyatski: “They are trying to accuse them of everything possible. We are very worried about it. We think that their terms of detention and punishment do not correspond to the actions they did”.
