Assembly of nongovernmental organizations and initiatives takes place in capital

An assembly of nongovernmental organizations and initiatives of Belarus is taking place in the International Education Centre in Minsk. More than 300 associations from all over the country and about 50 foreign guests have been invited to take part in the forum. Meetings of representatives of nongovernmental organizations took place in all regions before the assembly. The agenda of the meeting in Minsk was discussed there. According to one of the organizers of the forum Syarhei Matskevich, there are less than 3 thousand nongovernmental associations registered in Belarus. At the same time, about 50% of civil initiatives have not acquired a legal status

BelaPAN notes that the organizers of the Assembly of nongovernmental organizations and initiatives are going to make use of the so-called liberalization in our country to discuss their problems and denote their general position.
