Attorney General demands criminal responsibility for unpaid fines

The Belarusian Attorney General Ryhor Vasilevich supports the idea of introduction of criminal responsibility for debtors who do not comply with court decisions. In his opinion, able-bodied debtors do not want to get official jobs to avoid the necessity to pay their debts or fines. They usually lack any property and money too.

That is why the Belarusian Attorney general has ordered to prepare a project of amendments to the Criminal Code of Belarus. According to the project, both officials (already mentioned in the Criminal Code) and other citizens in debt will be subjected to criminal responsibility.

The Belarusian Attorney General thinks that income statements should be presented by such people so that it would become clear how much money they make.
