Belarus approves new agreements on bilateral travel with Lithuania, Poland
New agreements on mutual travel between Belarus and neighbors Lithuania and Poland have come into effect on December 21. A temporary use of international agreements with these countries was approved by President Alexander Lukashenka. The new agreements are necessary because Poland and Lithuania joined the Schengen passport-free travel zone and the existing bilateral accords do not meet the requirements of EU's visa policy.
The agreements have installed a more conducive regime of mutal travel compared to the Schengen regime, notes the press office of the Belarus's head of state.
