Belarus bans 17 more novels

Belarus’ Ministry of Information has added 17 more books to the list of publications that “may harm the country’s national interests.” The novels are now banned in the country.

Among the newly banned titles are Jeanette Winterson’s “The Night Side of the River” and William S. Burroughs’s “The Wild Boys.”

In total, the list of books deemed harmful to Belarusian “national interests” now contains 258 titles, including works by Hanya Yanagihara, David Mitchell, Anne Applebaum and Stephen King.
