Belarus delegation finds no understanding with Russian sanitary authorities over milk exports
The Russian Sanitary Authority does not wish to resolve the issue associated with the shipment of Belarus' dairy products to Russia, Mikhail Savelyeu, Belarus' deputy agriculture minister, said in a statement. Savelyeu was a head of Belarus delegation that was holding talks in Moscow over the "milk war" but was recalled back to Minsk in the afternoon on June 16.
The Belarusian official said the delegation had waited for three days to be received by an official from the Russian sanitary authority when they arrived for the first time. On June 16, they were even not granted an appointment. According to Savelyeu, the Belarusian side is always prepared to renew the negotiations, reports Belapan.
Russia's agriculture minister Elena Skrynnik stated that the talks with Belarus ended positively and an agreement that satisfied the both sides was reached.
