Belarus to increase aid for newborns

The governement in Belarus said it was to offer more aid to the parents of newborns in order to improve the country's demography.
A draft legislation envisages around $420 to be paid after giving birth to the first child. Currently, families get nearly $170 in aid for the birth the first child.

Under the legislation, the government will pay up to 7 minimum wages for delivering the second and more children. The draft resolution is currently being reviewed by the Council of Ministers, reports www.interfax.by
