Belarus to postpone consideration of issue of Abkhazia and South Ossetia till 2009

The Belarusian Parliament may consider the issue of recognition of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in 2009. The head of the House of Representatives’ parliamentary commission on international affaires and connections with CIS Syarhei Maskevich has expressed the idea.
"We should not hurry and we should not delay the decision either. There will be nothing bad if we do not take the decision this year. It will happen next year”, - he said in an interview with a Russian newspaper “News Time”.

ITAR-TASS informs that Maskevich received an appeal from South Ossetia the other day and that Abkhazia had sent the necessary documents to the House of Representatives earlier.
